Following an investigative report on Radio Canada's "La facture" program, several fake companies are presenting themselves on the web with beautiful pages, partnerships with charities and even writing that the products are made in Canada.
How not to be fooled?
1-Check that the physical address of the company is displayed on the website and check with Google for double-checking
2- Verify that the business number and Quebec tax numbers appear on the invoice and are valid
3- Call the number in the contact to make sure there is a customer service representative on the line.
4- Look on google for comments on this company... because comments on a website can be all wrong.
Be vigilant and tell yourself that when it is too good....it may not be true
